Korean Celebrity Chef Edward Kwon Appointed as Honorary Chef of BERJAYA University College of Hospitality
Recent I was at an awesome event where Korean Celebrity Chef Edward Kwon has been appointed an Honorary Chef of BERJAYA University College of Hospitality (BERJAYA UCH) becoming the first Chef that the University College has bestowed such an honour.
Mr Freddie Pang, Executive Director of Berjaya Corporation Bhd, presented the Award Certificate to Chef Edward Kwon (Korean name Kwon Young Min), who flew in from Seoul to accept it at a dedicated ceremony commemorating the event. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Chung Chi-won, Consular Attaché from the Korean Embassy, representatives from the Korean Tourism Organization, guests from the corporate, hospitality and lifestyle industries, local celebrities as well as members of the Korean community in Kuala Lumpur.
“Today marks another milestone in Edward’s career. Being appointed our Honorary Chef brings with it certain responsibilities, one of which is sharing his expertise in the field of Culinary Arts and Entrepreneurship with the BERJAYA UCH community. Our teaching paradigm, known as Berjaya Immersion Methodology creates symbiotic relationships between career professionals and our students allowing them to have a mix of classroom and theoretical classes with industry experience giving the students fresh perspectives on current practices and trends of the culinary industry. This type of platform equips our students with the knowledge and the skills to stay relevant and give them the strength and the sound values to leverage on professionals like Chef Edward Kwon, who is ever willing to extend a helping hand. We hope that this will create the right environment to develop, nurture and empower the future leaders of the culinary arts industry” remarked Mr Pang.
